What is a Home Check?

Like many Arizona residents, we own a second home in a different part of the state. We use this home as a vacation spot, and unfortunately, it sits empty when we are away. We've often wondered how we would know if there was a water leak, a problem with the utilities or if someone took note that our home was empty and decided to damage or burglarize it? Constantly asking our neighbors to check on the home was a burden on them and wasn't a reliable alternative. We even looked online for a service that would check on our property and still be reasonable and flexible. Unfortunately, we didn't find any companies that provided occasional home checks in the area. So, we decided we would create the company that will provide this service at a reasonable price and be as flexible as the homeowner needs.

how flexible is this service?

It's completely up to you how often you want your home checked. Things to consider are the length of time your away, specific property needs (plants, utilities etc.) and general feeling of safety in your area. We can discuss your needs and I will work with you to check on your home as often as necessary. Together we will determine the amount and frequency of the home checks. We service the Tucson valley and the Pinetop/Show Low area.

what do i get with each home check?

Each home check is done in person. At a minimum, the exterior of your home will be visually inspected. Should you need an interior check done, this can be arranged as well. You have the ability to limit the level and scope of the check. With each check we offer a texted or e-mailed photo of your home to you to show when the check was done and to update you on the status of your property.

what happens if a problem is found?

If anything of concern is found during a home check, we will immediately notify you or your emergency contact. Together we will then decide the best course of action to resolve the issue. Before we leave, we will make sure your home is safe and secure. We will even wait for authorities or contractors to arrive in the case of an emergency (additional cost--see below). In many cases, We can perform minor repairs to your home to ensure no further damage occurs. In all cases, you will receive immediate and comprehensive details of the concern and what needs to be done to remedy it.

how much does this service cost?

Individual home checks are $20 per check. If you're a seasonal resident and away for more than 30 days, we can offer monthly discounted prices depending on how many home checks you need per month. A contract will be written and the amount due will be paid prior to any home checks being done.

Should you need us to wait for authorities or contractors, an additional cost of $40 per hour will be required. Any minor repairs that we perform will also cost $40 per hour. Additional materials for the repair will be billed at cost in addition to the hourly $40 rate.

In order to complete the services we provide, we have added our handyman services. If you have a need to have minor repairs or upgrades to your home, we can get that done along with the other services we provide. Everything from upgrading your faucets to installing new tile is something we can assist you with. We can also maintain your home while you're away. We will make your yard and home look great and stay that way. Just let us know what you need and we will make sure the job gets done.
